Miami’s regional collaboration on resilience issues, particularly sea level rise, is a source of strength in its bid to host the second Amazon headquarters, according to an official familiar with the plan. The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact is a major source of this collaboration, bringing together Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties to develop solutions to challenges including sea level rise, housing costs, and transportation that are significant for the success of Miami’s Amazon proposal.
