STRATEGIES

EQ-2.1 Ensure that all local government staff and elected officials have the opportunity to participate in ongoing climate equity and environmental justice training.

IMPLEMENTERS: local governments, Tribal governments, community-based organizations,

non-profit organizations, academic institutions

EQ-2.2 Identify existing curricula or training options. If no appropriate training exists, develop or commission the development of curricula for local government staff on topics such as:

  • How systemic inequity and racism are threat multipliers for climate change
  • How to design and implement equitable climate solutions through collaboration among community groups and local government leaders
