What SE Florida Can Teach us About the Political Science of Climate Change

The paper Climate-Science Communication and the Measurement Problem, written by Dan M. Kahan of Yale University – Law School, examines the science-of-science communication measurement problem. It presents data showing that “conservative Republicans” know just as much about climate science as “liberal Democrats.” More importantly, the data shows that “conservative Republicans” are more likely to be motivated to see scientific evidence of climate change as supporting the conclusion that we face huge risks.
