As climate change brings higher temperatures to South Florida, it also increases the range and biting season for mosquitoes. Researchers believe these shifts could create public health risks as insect-borne diseases–notably from ticks and mosquitoes—become more widespread. South Florida’s warm and wet climate will make it particularly susceptible.
