SUMMARY:Resilient Florida Implementation Grant Project Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Established in 2021\, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Resilient Florida Program has provided annual funding to local governments to advance community resilience to the impacts of natural hazards such as sea-level rise\, flooding\, and extreme weather events. Within the four-county Compact region\, more than 97% of communities have completed or are in the process of completing their vulnerability assessment\, positioning them to be eligible to apply for implementation funding.  \nThis workshop will provide an overview and background of the funding available via Resilient Florida for project implementation from Florida Department of Environmental Protection staff\, and showcase several successful projects from within the Compact region with ample opportunity for Q&A with the local governments who are implementing these projects. The structure of the showcase presentations will highlight the steps that funded communities have taken to advance from vulnerability assessment to project implementation\, how the project is integrated within larger planning efforts\, intra-agency coordination for project design and implementation\, and examples of innovation within project design. \nWatch Recording\n Agenda\n  \n
