Create opportunities for local government administrations to discuss in-person with socially vulnerable populations the unique climate challenges and opportunities present in their community.

Hold meetings that are accessible to the community. Meetings should be:

  1. Physically accessible (centrally located and near public transportation)
  2. Safe to all members of the community
  3. Located in places communities value as gathering spaces (e.g., community centers and cultural centers)
  4. Led in, or translated into, the primary language(s) of the community
  5. Scheduled at various times to accommodate different schedules

Provide resources or compensation to remove potential barriers for community participation, including:

  1. Providing childcare for parents attending
  2. Providing food if held in the evening
  3. Providing or facilitating transportation
